Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is particularly useful, but I tried browser.tabs.remote for an afternoon and this is what I found:
http://bryanquigley.com/uncategorized/multiprocess-firefox-an-afternoon-testing-on-ubuntu-12-04

I didn't make a new profile, so if that invalidates testing please let me know..

Thanks!
Bryan

hi Bryan, thanks for your "trip report"! :) It is definitely useful to
hear people's experiences because everyone has their different use cases.

When you say a problem is "expected", do you mean that there is already
bug report in Bugzilla?

This seems to work for me (on OS X). Does this affect a specific
website, maybe?

Do you have a link? Is this a public web page?

Zooming using the keyboard shortcuts or the mousewheel?

the window and then hit F11)

This is a known issue. I could't find a bug report for it, so I filed
bug 961362.

Mostly that it's on the known issue list.. or mentioned in the linked blog post.

Nope, When I set "Accept Third Party Cookies" to Never, sites including https://panopticlick.eff.org show Cookies as being disabled. I should mention that old cookies are not deleted..

No link & not public..

Here are some (I believe related...) Browser Console messages... anything else that would be useful?

Cc[name] is undefined RemoteAddonsParent.jsm:99
[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [nsIDOMWindowUtils.isParentWindowMainWidgetVisible]" nsresult: "0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE)" location: "JS frame :: jar:file:///home/bryan/bin/firefox/omni.ja!/components/nsPrompter.js :: openModalWindow :: line 380" data: no] nsPrompter.js:380
Cc[name] is undefined RemoteAddonsParent.jsm:99
The character encoding of a framed document was not declared. The document may appear different if viewed without the document framing it. emptyHtmlDoc.html
Cc[name] is undefined RemoteAddonsParent.jsm:99

The actual message from the embedded box:
"Content Encoding Error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression."

Well, I wonder if I just tried it different ways.. Mousewheel appears to work fine. Nothing else does.

Thanks!

I can reproduce this bug on OS X, so I filed bug 961928. The third-party
cookie pref seemed to work when I cleared all my cookies and then
visited some news websites.

Those error messages are interesting. I'll file a bug report with them.

On OS X, CMD+- and CMD+= keyboard shortcuts decrease and increase the
page size, as expected. Are there other ways or keyboard shortcuts to
zoom on Linux?

Tom fixed that bug only a few days ago (bug 691614). Bryan's build
probably didn't have the fix.

I filed bug 961939 for the Salesforce widget problem, if you have more
test information or would like to follow the issue.
