Part 3 - Show message when there might be missing sources.

Actually, per recent discussion, showing a message instead of the sources seems
more confusing than anything else for users. It seems best to table this for
now until we can decide on a better solution. The patches here should still be
useful for developing a realm-based approach for detecting missing sources.
