TI makes their firmware binaries available in a clonable git repository, which makes it VERY friendly for building.

I found that little gem in their FAQ on how to update firmware:

That's pretty cool. I think it's important to factor that kind of
openness in our hardware selection since we'll want our full hardware
design to be published under some open license.
