This is to notify about the creation of a Mozilla global RTL
taskforce.
Why?
It has become obvious to the various Mozilla RTL communities
that the creation of an RTL task force is needed in order to drive
the RTL effort onwards and across products.
During
the
recent l10n RTL Hackathon, participants (mostly developers)
from Arabic, Persian and Urdu teams have agreed that the RTL task
force needs to be first and foremost a global task force – and that
they can then address the possible RTL differences from one language
to another as they come.
We are still looking for participants from other RTL languages to
join us, please feel free to spread the word.
This initiative will be mostly developer focused at first - but feel
free to join if you think you can also bring your expertise as a
tester.
Goals
A few initial goals have been defined for the task force:
Priority right now is to help find and fix bugs for Firefox OS 2.5
(currently master).
Ressources/Tools
We have started to work on creating a few tools in order to help
organize this new community. Please remember to use English as main
language on all these channels, so we can all work together
regardless of language ;)
Please help spread the word about this initiative. To join today,
the mailing list and irc channels are a good place to start at.
thanks!
