Hi Delphine,

While we working on the specs for iOS it would be great if   We consider bugs for specs and filing bugs is so useful.

Thanks
Reza.

Hi all,

Would like to relay Stefan's message that was sent out on dev.l10n here:

Le mercredi 23 mars 2016 15:00:35 UTC-7, Stefan Arentz a ?crit :

There has been some discussion around supporting RTL on iOS. I would love to see this happen.

I want to start by pointing to the following meta bug:

    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1160759 <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1160759>

If you see an RTL related bug, please file a new bug _in the Firefox for iOS product_ and make the above meta bug the parent of that bug.

This will help us understand the work that needs to be done and the areas of the app that are currently not correctly dealing with RTL scripts.

     S.

What great times for RTL! :D

cheers
delphine

Of course a good first step for this would be to start working on iOS specs.
There are probably things out there that we just know is an RTL bug for sure, even without specs - but working on defining specs will be a good solid first step.
Just my 2 cents ;)

Thanks Reza,

Your message finally got through to the list \o/

Anyways, to your message: I ran a query and I believe there are currently no "true" RTL bugs opened for iOS: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?list_id=12931389&short_desc=rtl&chfieldto=Now&query_format=advanced&chfield=[Bug%20creation]&chfieldfrom=-24h&short_desc_type=anywords&product=Firefox%20for%20iOS

(anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong). I just see that screenshot bug up there.

I'd encourage anyone to start opening up RTL bugs for iOS of course. Please just remember to add [RTL] at the beginning of the title of your bug, and to block the meta here (very important), both for quering purposes: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1160759

cheers and have a good weekend!
