large list, SyncDir great for non system files, Dsync best for complete system backup.

Have you turned off cpu and bus cache while installing? Try it, then when done enable again.

AHCI is for sata normal hard drive driver. May not be newer drivers. Did you enable such feature in bios?

Why wait, it is broken already.

So She can feed this to NFTP/2 (windowed version so She can copy & paste
the URL above.

Another option would be to use PM Backup/2 - it's behaviour is like my
old and trusted BackAgain Pro/2 when She did a FULL backup every
Saturday to a DAT74 tape labeled Week1, then Incremental backups
Sun-Fri. Switch tape to Week2 and rinse and repeat :-) 3rd week, go back
to 1st tape again - in this wey She would have two weeks backups
available so if something went shitty in for example WSeB (my old
workhorse of OS2) She used the following procedure for restoring it.
Raname som unimportant file like autoexec.bat to autoexec.xxx, do a
restore of autoexec.bat and if that went well, reformat C: do a FULL
restore of C: where WSeB lives and CHKDSK c: /f - this was done from
another functioning OS namely eCs20rc5 (Back Again Pro is visible there
too). Then just shutdown ecs20rc4 and booting into WSeB which came up
nice as you please :-) PM Backup functions like Ba/2 Pro - it can backup
to tape but that avnue is closed as the new box is non-scsi and even
USB-connected tape backup stations are horrendously expense. So the
first backups will go to a 64Gib USB stick (2 of them, one for week1 and
one for week2) until She gets funds to buy an USB-connected HD.
Partition it up in two partitions namely week1 and week2 (probably via
DFSEE and then use LVM to create the volumes on it. First week, make the
Week1 partition visible (and thereby making the Week2 invisible), do the
first week's backup to Week1, make Week1 invisible so Week2 would be
visible, erase it (NOT format as it destroys the volume label!) and repeat.

That animal i.e. bus cache don't exist in the BIOS setup which is
Classical BUT Processors can be set to All, 1 or 2. But it would be best
to create these bootable floppies so She could volumize all partitions
now on the new box 1st HD, even the Win7 (C:) volume, 2nd C: for a
modern DOS that can handle SATA and USB and 3rd C: for a hotted-up WSEB.
Then try to install eCs 2.1 BusEd and feeding it with the latest ahci so
it can access the SATA HD properly. Or if Her trustee helps me paying
$65 to ArcaNoae, She can download ArcaOS via wget (he recommended this
download method as Her browsers refuses to download big files :-( and
then install it first. With ArcaOS Air-boot will be installed and the
volumes can be created with LVM inside ArcaOS, even the Win7 volume can
be created and seting it to Startable. Lastly, after all data partitions
are transferred over to the new box, install Win7 and force it NOT to
create is's so-called 'recovery partition'. Will not use Win7 much, only
stuff that requires an e-identifier AKA BankID and Her diabetes meter
program.

In the Classical bios it can be set to Ahci, ATA or RAID, no Sata option
exist. But in the setup process for example eCs 2.1 BusED there is an
option to load in additional drivers via the floppy, so if She puts the
latest AHCI on the floppy, it should go in and the install would go to
completion. Then the BIOS can be set back to use all processors again
and using AHCI again.

That was good news, the Inbox is NOT damaged so it can be moved to the
new profile "as is" via the method you described before. But can it be
migrated to the new profile so that the characters in th Inbox is
converted to UTF-8? Having UTF-8, our Swedish tail-end chars should show
up fine when it's time to migrate the mailer to SM 2.1 - tried it once
but the three tail-end chars showed up funny but where not invisible but
they looked as if small "sprouts" stuck up from the characters. And
what's the command for migrating the Inbox to the new profile where the
charset for it will be UTF-8? The Sent folder is already set to use
UTF-8 charset.

Hi Christer

The ArcaOS update files are Warpin self-extracting .EXE packages and are
installed by double clicking the file.

If you want to open the Warpin self-extracting .EXE packages and extract
individual files WPIView is very handy.

WPIView is available in Warpin and zip packages from here
