Hi mobile team,

I've put together a high level design for an addon to let you do mobile
website development using Desktop Firefox:

https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Desktop_Extension

The aim is to leverage the strength we have of a single, unfragmented,
same-everywhere rendering engine (contra WebKit) to allow web developers
to do mobile development, not on a tiny poky screen with no tools, but
on their nice, fast, big-screened desktop machines. If we can achieve
that, they will love us for it - and it'll be a big boost to both
Firefox on Mobile and the open, cross-browser, cross-platform web.

It will also be very useful for the evangelism effort.

What I'd really like to know from you guys is:

- Is such a thing, with the features I outline, even vaguely possible?

- What are the behavioural differences between Firefox Desktop and
Firefox Mobile? Is there a list anywhere?

- How many are toggleable (prefs) and how many are not?

- Is the mobile team interested in doing their Gecko changes in such a
way as to make them switch-on-able in Desktop Firefox, or is that going
to be impossible?
