That being said, for people who have installed Linux on a PowerPC
architecture, is it possible to somehow get ahold of a binary download
or a reduced set of compilation instructions for Mozilla Lightning?
I would like to use the same browser, email, and calendaring
applications across multiple architectures. Currently, due to academic
requirements, I am using the following:
MacBook Pro (Intel)
Windows XP
MacBook Pro (Intel)
OS/X Tiger / Panther
MacBook Pro (Intel)
Linux (Fedora 8)
PowerBook G4
OS/X Tiger / Panther
PowerBook G4
Linux (Fedora 8)
Firefox, Thunderbird, and Lightning work in four of the five
configurations. There have to other people using the PowerBooks to run
Linux. I would be more than willing to compile the source code on a
regular basis and and provide the binaries via a website if I was able
to create a stable binary. I have programmed in a number of languages
and am familiar with compiling Linux and C-based applications.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of time (I am a law student), I have not
had time to work through the somewhat complex methodology behind the
mozilla compilation process.
Could anyone help with simplified compilation instructions, or with a
Lightning binary for the Linux-PowerPC platform?
Thank you in advance for any (relevant) replies.
