firefox crashes when using gtk "Save box"

As in title firefox crashes when using gtk "Save box". Right clicking on any web object then choosing Save page as or "Save link as " and then any attempt to navigate through file system ( changing directories ... etc. ) would end in firefox crash. The same happens in Safe Mode. Adding the new user by firefox -P does not help. The console shows no output, although the crash reports the libgio.so involved.
I disabled all addons and all plugins. Still crashes.

The stranger it is that, all newly added accounts in linux ( by adduser) works perfectly fine. It must be some user related gnome-config issues that it crashes. If someone has time to dissolve that crash I can gladly post my gnome config files ( you must name them).
Slackware 13.0 - current + gnome slackbuilds + firefox 3.5.5, everything from the slackware repository ( besides gnome ).
