Unix preferences for external protocol and content handling removed

We've gone ahead and started to remove the preferences that would
control what apps would be launched for external protocol and content
handling on unix. The reasoning behind this is that we are providing
a UI that lets the user accomplish this now, and the preferences
created additional code paths that complicate the code (which is
already overly complicated).
