I am pleased to announce that MozillaBuild 1.6 is available at
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/libraries/win32/MozillaBuildSetup-Latest.exe<http://people.mozilla.org/%7Ekhuey/MozillaBuildSetup1.6rc.exe>

This release contains:
- Support for the 7.0a and 7.1 SDKs.
- A fix for the "launch a new window" issue that breaks Console2, among
others.
- Python 2.7.2 (replacing 2.6.5).
- Mercurial 1.9.1 (replacing 1.5.4).
- A change in the default editor from "emacs -nw" to "emacs", avoiding the
default editor breaking the terminal display.

(New since the release candidate)

- Support for MSVC 2011 and SDK 8.

To upgrade,

1. Remove your current mozillabuild installation. (If you can't remove the
existing installation, you probably have a Mozillabuild terminal open or
ssh-agent running. Terminate it and try again).
2. Install MozillaBuild 1.6.
3. Clobber (remove the object directory of) any trees you have. (If you
don't do this you'll get weird build errors).

Please file any builds you come across in mozilla.org::MozillaBuild.

Hmmm.... We're off to a rocky start.

The text below is seen when opening a x86 shell (batch file "start-
msvc9.bat") on a fully-updated WinXP-x64 system. These components are
installed: VS2008/SP1 and WinSDK v7.1.

"Mozilla tools directory: C:\mozilla-build\"

9.0\VC\
Visual C++ 10 Express directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
Visual Studio 10.0\VC\
Windows SDK directory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\

before initialization with status code 0x1
194 [main] bash" 800 sync_with_child: *** child state waiting for

and this is seen when opening a x64 window ("start-msvc9-x64.bat") on
the same machine:

Windows XP 64 bit is not really a development system that we care about.
That said, perhaps the info at
http://wiki.mozilla-x86-64.com/MSYS_and_Cygwin_on_x64_%28AMD64%29 will be
helpful.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=506323

XP and Server 2003 need a hack that mingw32 on 64bit cmd.exe doesn't
work well.
