The old versions of Chrome before V58 are packed as 7zip self-extracting executable. Just run the executable and extract the files under any folder on your hard drive. Then launch Google chrome with chrome.exe under the extraction folder. After V59, the archived chrome old version files are official Chrome offline installers. Just uninstall any current version of Chrome first and then run the downloaded installer. It's a one-click installer without any interactive UI.

It can be really hard to find an older version of Chrome as the official website does not allow to download them. Maybe I do not know how to find them but when I needed an older version I could not find it. For now I use this website -browsers/google-chrome. The Google Chrome team doesn't offer older versions to be downloaded for security reasons as someone else pointed out but you might need them for testing so its available from the above page and takes a bit of work to download.
There are several third-party sites (as mentioned in -to-download-an-old-version-of-chrome) that allows to download Chrome binaries but I don't want to download from those third-party for security reasons.
I have a problem with the latest version of Chrome ( -do-i-download-a-file-with-webdriver-in-the-latest-chrome-version-43-0-2357-1) so I need to download and install the previous version of Chrome. A few places suggest FileHippo or OldVersion, but FileHippo only redirects to Google's Chrome download page and OldVersion only goes up to version 23.
Personally, I prefer to download portable versions when dealing with older versions of software. Luckily, Google Chrome is one of those. SourceForge seems to keep a long history of PortableApps, so I recommend them for getting old versions of Chrome:

It's not possible to emulate older versions of Chrome from within DevTools, as is possible in IE. It's not very reliable to emulate them anyway. I've used IE 8 emulator in the past, and on occasion it has provided different results from the version I installed on an XP VM.
While I don't have a way to emulate a different version, I did find a way to have a current and an old version installed at the same time. For the 'current' version I installed Chrome Beta. Then I set the regular version of Chrome to the older version I needed.
A real device cloud from BrowserStack provides the optimal way to access older Chrome versions with the least possible time and effort. Instead of downloading older versions of Chrome, sign up for free, log in, and choose from Chrome versions 18 to 98.
You have to uninstall Chrome completely so that it removes Google's update server from your system and download the new google-chrome from google. After you install the new one, a server with new keys will be added to your system and updates will start appearing again.
A couple of things are worth noting. Chrome extensions can only be installed via the Chrome store and they only allow the current version. The same holds true for Safari and while it is possible to download an older version of a Firefox extension I can't think of a scenario where it would be recommended.
Title says it all. I need and old version of the chrome extension. My extension got auto-updated to version 6 which does not work with version 5.6.10 of the windows desktop client.I'm not interested in updating to version 6 because it removed the capability to do touchID logins on the mac.
FYI, A version on the chrome webstore is still necessary. Not an unpacked chrome extension. If we use the unpacked extension, there will be websocket connection errors when attempting to get to the localhost address. ws://127.xxxxx:port
Keep in mind also, that this is still just a kludgey workaround. The extension will still be updated to the latest Enpass version automatically. So if Enpass cares about it's customers it will still need to provide an official, legacy extension for the chrome web store.
I have the identical error when trying to roll back from Enpass 6.0.x installs to enpass_chrome-5.5.3 (unpacked in "Developer Mode"). I had uninstalled version 6.0.2, the extensions, and gone through the registry manually cleaning Enpass and Sinew software entries (and there are a TON of them).
removed appvol agent from a test machine and tested with same gold image and I could see the correct version of chrome, now not sure how to get correct chrome version with appvol, any reg key or config change to make.
in my test machine there is to Chrome Appstack attached and I removed the appvol agent here. If I move back to production my VDI which is assigned to me having only chrome installed on my Golden Image and there is no Appstack with chrome attached here. Theren in my prod system it showing the chrome version as 84. Seems like some where its caching the old chrome. dont know where it is.
To my understanding there is not an option download an older version of an app on iPhone or iPad. The only way you may be able to get the older version of a particular app is to possibly download the iOS or iPadOS version.
The entry to delete is a random string that is different from computer to computer (so it seems anyway). However, doing a find for "chrome" within the path above will identify it. It will look like this:
When I try to install the latest enterprise MSI, it first asks for the location of the previous MSI (which I no longer have). This results in the error "The older version of Google Chrome cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
Otherwise I think you'll need to do this manually. Still unclear if you are able to uninstall the current version, but if you can (or can't) you should check %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google and delete the "Chrome" folder. Or, perhaps you're using the enterprise version, in which case it's under C:\Program Files....
