I just ran some tests in a conference using the beta channel to receive a
webrtc audio/video stream.

Firefox 22 and Chrome play the audio and video perfectly.

However, on both Windows and Mac, FF 23 has a lot of glitches in the audio.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks

It may be - I filed bug 901527 on something that sounds like this.

I hadn't checked 23 or 22 yet, but I did try calls to Chrome, and
strangely I heard no problems in either direction talking to chrome.

Please add any observations/data you have to that bug - we can always
split it out if it later turns out to be a separate issue.

Also, if there is any way we can reproduce your problem please include
it there (or if private, please let me know by email). We're working on
audio latency and quality issues right now. See

Thanks Randell. I have added some details of my observations to that bug.
I will follow up privately with a private test case using my application.

just tested on apprtc.appspot.com between chrome 28 and the FF 23 stable

On the FF side, I hear audio distortion and >= 1 second latency.
On the chrome side, no distortion, no latency.

This test was conducted on Mac OS 10.8.4 with both browsers running on the
same desktop.

Ok, thanks. That's interesting (though it's always tricky to run a test
with two browsers on one machine in a call).

Can you try un-muting the local image of each one, and verify if the
local image video elements have delay or not?

Also, it would be very helpful to try your test with a Nightly Firefox,
and an Aurora (25 - virtually the same as nightly) or Beta 24.

Thanks!! And I'll be trying the test URL you gave me today (in the
middle of bisecting a windows-only issue).

Yes, 2 browsers on 1 machine can be tricky, but if you mute one or the
other remote video elements, then you can figure out which audio comes from
which browser.

I just tested local audio play out -- no delay or glitches.
