David Boswell encourages contributor stewards to define contribution
opportunities in teams (like MDN Webdev) where we might normally use an
employee or a contractor. We have a big gap of Design + HTML/CSS coding
skill in MDN right now. I wonder - should we try to recruit CSS derby
authors to help Craig with HTML/CSS work on MDN?

FWIW, I think that's a great idea.

You know what? I would absolutely love to help with this.

I have been dying to do more work with webdev and usability again, and
this seems like the perfect project. I'll be the first to admit that my
HTML/CSS skills are a little rusty, but a little reading and some
understanding from you guys should do the trick.

I wouldn't even mind working as a volunteer, seeing as my
Mozilla-blessed 12 hours per week are already packed full.

Wow, that would be awesome! Craig, you want to do some OJT for John? :)

I think there's another great idea here--have we reached out and tried
to recruit any derby authors for FTE?

Does anyone know any derby authors off the top of their heads that stand
out and don't work for us yet?

Hmm ... we haven't. We could try to match developers' profiles' skills
and/or demos' technologies with open jobs and maybe notify them?

How about touching base about this in NYC next week? It will take me
until about then to get my school life in order, anyway.

Thanks,
John

Totally. We talked the other day about setting aside a bit of time for a
general orientation on the site's structure and style sheet, just the
basics of how it's put together and how different components are styled.
