Hi,

A new term landed in Firefox with Bug 736279: Marketplace.
Should we consider it as a trademark? Shoud we localize it?

I don't believe this is being trademarked, but "Mozilla Marketplace" is
obviously protected.

I'll ask around and see if we can get an answer on this distribution.

Hi,

I can confirm that the term will be "Mozilla Marketplace" as a proper
noun, i.e. not translated in-product but to be presented.

What I've learned: there was consultation on the name with a branding
agency and the world-ready list, arriving at "Mozilla Marketplace": this
did generate a lot of discussion on list, that "marketplace" was
difficult to translate and that the original English might be, well, too
English.

Against that, I understand our brand agency ran a trademark search and
ran geo-linguistics testing. There should be additional visuals (which
I think Kristin will share with us once available) to make it more
comprehensible.
