Hi all,

Firefox 4 just got released.

Please spread the word, using the #fx4 tag.

If you want to spread the news around firefox in general, I guess the
best link to use is http://getfirefox.com/. That'll use accept-lang
headers to determine the language to offer.

If you want to spread your own localization, links like
http://www.mozilla.com/af/firefox/ are best, unless your locale page
doesn't work yet. Say, http://www.mozilla.com/zu/firefox/ doesn't get
you to the zulu version hard-coded, for those localizations,
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html#zu is the best you get.

Congratulations to everyone that made it, there are 81 of you, way more
than we ever achieved in any previous release.

I'm also amazed by how many of you took on the project sites going along
with this release, really overwhelming.

I know that we didn't manage to get a good version for some of you, I'm
sorry for those, and we'll try better next time.

And yes, mobile is next.

Of course, for the locales in europe, I'm not discouraging you to use
the download pages there, goes without saying? Pascal and IT are
apparently still tweaking details there.

Hi,

Congrats to all. Very happy as an open source enthusiast that fx4 has arrived with several great features.

I have one issue with the release page.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

If we tell beta, it itself shows that there are some of the work needed there on localised build. But wrting like "These localized builds are in beta and may contain translation errors" are somehow not technically correct as the Mozilla itself not having much control on translation and so it is not even correct to say that even Fully Localized Versions are having fully correct translations.

Hope you can understand what I wanted to tell.

regards,

Hi Pike,

It looks like I missed to translate ~/gu-IN/firefox/4/details/index.html
as a result couple of messages on http://www.mozilla.com/gu-IN/firefox/
appears in English. I just submitted translation. How long will it take
to reflect my latest submission.

Thanks!

My Language Oriya is still in Beta. What are the steps still pending
that i would need to work on to move it from beta.

Thanks!

Hi,
Even i don't understand, what does it mean by specifying the
statement "These localized builds are in beta and *may* contain
translation errors."
As a maintainer i'm completely unaware about the error in my language
(Oriya), if there is anything exists.
And i want to know if there is any process to track translation errors
apart from tracking bugzilla?

Thanks!
Manoj

Sorry for off-topic, but why does the website say "Firefox is available in
over 70 languages" if 86 languages are listed? :D

That's to say not only Firefox 4 is awesome, it is also sooooo humble!
