Is there a way of making the teams pages
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Category:L10n_Teams

more human-readable? There are so many teams now that it's getting very
unwiedly to go by ISO code alone, I just spent several minutes clicking
around to figure which of the s- codes was Sinhala.

I would prefer a pattern of
EnglishName-ISO
or EnglishName-NativeName-ISO

but certainly anything that includes an actual language name.

I considered moving the pages but I decided not to do that without
bringing it up first.

Please don't move those pages, we have tons of pointers to those pages
that assume a particular page name by just locale code.

Preferably, someone would do some local experiments to check if we can
make use of semantic wiki and get more value out of those pages on
various fronts. I've done stuff like that before to prep for
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Aisle/Paradigms. I might do it again, but I
didn't intend to run that experiment for the team pages next, actually.

I thought that might be the case, hence my cautious approach

Ok that seems beyond my abilities, so I'll just let it go for now unless
someone else has time. Thanks for clarifying

When you specify a page is in a category, you can also specify a sortkey:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Categories#Sort_key

If we were to update the pages to use as a sortkey a string like "en
(English)", they would still sort in the same order. However, we might
then be able to make a one-line change to the Category-printing code in
Mediawiki to print out the sortkey (which is normally hidden) after the
category title.

This would have the effect you want.
