Hello, localizers of Gaia!

The official localized desktop builds are not quite ready yet, but we're
getting really close (see [1] and [2]).

In the meantime, you can start testing your localizations by using a
custom multilocale Gaia profile that I'm building myself.

Get it
------

Note that this is just the profile, so you'll still need the desktop
build from here:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/b2g/nightly/latest-mozilla-beta/

Next, download the profile from:

http://people.mozilla.com/~stas/b2g/profile.tar.gz

It is automatically rebuilt every hour with the newest Gaia code and the
newest translations from Mercurial.

Run it
------

Unpack the build and the profile, and run:

/path_to/b2g-bin -profile /path_to/profile/

Make sure to run `b2g-bin`. `b2g` alone will always use the default
Gaia profile enabled in the desktop build. If you're on Mac, you might
need to make sure that the path to the profile ends with the trailing slash.

Linux?
------

Remember the redraw problem that the desktop builds suffered from on
Linux [3]? Well, the problem is no more. Enjoy :)

HTH,
-stas

Stas,

How to test on Windows?
Or is this only possible with Virtual Machine/VMWare?
Will the upcoming desktopbuilds work on Windows?

And what is the localization deadline for, what will happen after that?

TIA,
Wim

Hi all,
Thanks so much *Staś* for the tutorial, works perfectly for me and I have
been able to choose Fulah and test screens and apps.
It is very slow but I understand it's only emulated. I have noticed that
calendar and date are still in English and also a strange Spanish phrase on
one of the "tour" screens.
What folder should play the role of memory card?
Why is calendar in English?

Regards
Ibrahima
