As admin for that project, you can assign translator or reviewer rights
to users. Simply log in and navigate to
http://mozilla.locamotion.org/sat/admin.html . Search for an
individual's user name in the dropdown list and then select rights you
decide to grant them. Once selected, hit save.

I already have .po files translated for santali language, but for a previous version of firefox. So, when i uploaded Santali language .po files (Using replace file option while uploading), i found that the number of string are less in the replaced file.
This i feel is a mistake from my side. So how to rectify it ? I mean i need original en_US .po files so that i can replace the incorrect files with this.
Also i would like to understand why does the number of strings for Firefox Aurora 31 is different for different languages. For eg. For Angika language number of string is 42354, whereas for Hindi it is 41700.

It gives me immense pleasure in informing all the community members that 60% of Santali language translations for Firefox 31.0 have been completed. I am on my way to contribute rest of the translations soon and make it 100%.
At this point, i would like to seek help from other members as well in completing the target. If anyone is interested in joining this language team, Please let me know.

I had submitted 60% of translations for Santali language for Firefox 31.0.
When i see now after a gap of few days, i am surprised to see that for Firefox 21 (Aurora) the percentage has been reduced to just 10%.
How has that happened ?. Or there is substantial difference between total number of words between 31 and 32 versions ?

I'm going to be travelling tomorrow so I'll try get some other eyes from
the tech-team to look at this in case I'm not online.
I just need to ask some quick questions that can help us know where to look.
How where those translations submitted, were they translated offline i.e.
downloaded and then uploaded, or were they all done directly on Pootle i.e.
submitting all translation on Pootle?
Are you 100% sure you where at 60% for the whole project and not just
looking at one folder. Since Santali came online only on 20 May that would
not just amazing it would be Herculean. Not impossible, but wow.
I compared the submission activity with other languages that didn't have to
start from zero but track quite closely to 100% translated and they (Welsh
and Scots Gaelic) had have 1/3 less activity than Santali. But two
languages who are quite well translate and had some catching up to do
(Fulah and Songhay) did only slightly less and only slightly more then
Santali. Hence my question about offline as that would under-read
submissions. This is comparing teams that needed to translate about 2000
words as opposed to 40,000.
I'll continue looking at logs and commits etc to see if I can spot anything
while I wait for some feedback.

Answer - Translations were already done for earlier version of Firefox. Hence, while submitting it on pootle for Version 31, I used both the methods. Wherever it was possible, i uploaded the .po files directly and wherever there was a problem, I submitted it manually one sentence at a time.
Question- Are you 100% sure you where at 60% for the whole project and not just looking at one folder. Since, Santali came online only on 20 May that would not just amazing it would be Herculean. Not impossible, but wow.
Answer- Yes. In fact i had sent an email on May 31 to inform the list about this achievement. This seemingly Herculean efforts was possible because I had most of the translations already done with me.

I'm still looking through the commits, as those would show pulls of
translations off Pootle and would show exactly what Pootle had (or at least
thought it had) as translation.
I remember having a red flag about 'sat' at one pull but I can't recall
what that was and that would have given me some clues. I didn't think it
important enough at the time to followup, sorry :(
My two theories:
1) The files where uploaded to a wrong directory. Pootle will sync those
to disk but we remove them in any migrations since they're often mistakes
in uploads.
2) In a sync to disk we didn't have the correct permission so the sync
didn't happen. This happens in new languages but we catch that early and
correct it. Only a problem if a lot of files got uploaded soon after the
language was initialised.
Either of these is my strongest estimate at the moment.
If you had previous translation we should have done a recovery of those
from our side. Its our usual process and gets things up quickly and
correctly. it also means we can do that again so all is not lost. But
lets do that after I've done a bit more research. If you send those to me
now I can at least work to patch those together with what we've already got
through Pootle so nothing is lost.
So still digging, but thanks for your answers. And could you send me your
existing translations so we have that as an option.
