Hello. I am writing this message because there are going to be some
changes in the roles of the es-ES team. I am no longer going to be the
owner of any of the products, neither the team-owner.

The team-owner is going to be Ricardo Palomares Martinez. Actually,
regarding his contributions, he has always been the team-owner, but I
suppose I was initially named as that because I was the first one to
obtain CVS access.

Firefox owner is going to be now Guillermo López Leal, but he hasn't
acquired yet a CVS account AFAIK.

I could just write these changes in the mozilla wiki (at the l10n teams
section), but I wanted to know if I should do anything else to vouch for
them.

I have been very glad contributing in these Mozilla projects. Many
thanks to all for your support.

Regards,

Andrés [ knocte ]

Hi, I'm Guillermo López, the person Andrés refers to.
Well, I'm actually working with Ricardo Palomares (the team-owner) to
set up my environment and some other stuff to start working in the less
time possible.
I need to fill a bug to get access to CVS and download few software.

PS: Andrés e-mail was wrote on 8th January, and I receive it this morning...

Regards!!

Hi Andres et al,

thanks for posting.

Guillermo, first of all, a welcome from the folks here. It'd be
interesting to me to get some additional details on you, like technical
skills and platforms you're working on. Might actually be useful
information across the board.

As for Andres, do you want to stay as peer? That'd probably be a good idea.

I have no problems with you just adjusting the owners wiki page, though
that is not a general opening. For team changes like this, giving me a
heads up notice is a good idea. Doing so in the newsgroup has the
additional benefit that the community can follow those things.

If you have more questions, send them my way.

In the meanwhile of Guillermo's answer, I'm trying to write an
(english) document outlining the workflow process for translators
using CVS and MozillaTranslator. I hope to get on it again, since I've
been "mentally" offline since almost Jan 1st. :-/

Something I presume can't be done without a bug or, at the very least,
an announce like Andres has done, is changing the default asignee for
es-ES component in Bugzilla. How should we proceed? (BTW, could this
deserve a note in your Ownership document?).

TIA

Well, I use Windows all of my time, but I have Linux installed
(Mandriva, because Ricardo's laptop has it ;-)) and i will use it to do
all work with Mozilla (cvs, translating and some other stuff). From now
to a month (approximately) I have exams in the University so I will be
here, of course, but with less activity than other times.
As you can see, my English is bad, but I think you understand me, and I
will try to understand you :P

I don't know what's going to do Andrés, but I think he might answer here.
In the next few days I will talk with Ricardo and I hope they teach me
in the art of Translating Mozilla.

A change in the default ownerships in bugzilla should be requested by
filing a bug in mozilla.org product, Bugzilla: Keywords & Components.

...which is not so different of translating Nvu 1.0, in which
Guillermo already contributed. I really think he's more afraid of this
than he should. :-)

Ricardo.

When this bug gets resolved, I'll do the change in the wiki to set
myself as team owner.

Ricardo.
