Indeed, the comments are only sent as Pontoon in-app notifications. We
discovered that one of the project contacts was set to a different account
from the one the person uses when working with Pontoon. So notifications
were never seen nor acted upon. This is now fixed. Sorry about that and
thanks for raising the issue! You should start getting responses to your
old comments soon.
For tracking notifications more easily and also while not using Pontoon, we
strongly recommend using Michal's add-on:
And yes, I agree sending emails would be more appropriate for certain types
of notifications and we have plans to tackle that in the future (as well as
make some other improvements to the way notifications work).
