Introducing source string comments in Pontoon

Hi,

We've just shipped support for source string comments in Pontoon.

You can request more context or report a typo, and the project managers can
pin their responses to make them visible for everyone.

Are these comments meant to be sent out as email notifications? I just
checked the source code and unless I'm looking at the wrong place, I
see they are not [1].

I'm mentioning this because a few weeks ago I tried the feature to
request context or report an issue in multiple strings, however I only
received one answer (and only a few days ago). So I have the feeling
the notifications are not prominent enough and the whole feature would
be more useful if such events are reported via email too. Are there
any plans to do something in this area?

Hi Julen,

Indeed, the comments are only sent as Pontoon in-app notifications. We
discovered that one of the project contacts was set to a different account
from the one the person uses when working with Pontoon. So notifications
were never seen nor acted upon. This is now fixed. Sorry about that and
thanks for raising the issue! You should start getting responses to your
old comments soon.

For tracking notifications more easily and also while not using Pontoon, we
strongly recommend using Michal's add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/sl/firefox/addon/pontoon-tools/

And yes, I agree sending emails would be more appropriate for certain types
of notifications and we have plans to tackle that in the future (as well as
make some other improvements to the way notifications work).
