Hi,

I have a request that I believe will help us all.
When we need to change a specific word or term, the search results include
all strings that have it in all suggestions.
If Pontoon have an "Approved Only" extra filter, the results would show
only the strings that have that word or term in their approved suggestion.
With this filter it will be easier to know which string still need to be
changed.

Thanks for the improvements on Pontoon,
Marcelo

Hi Marcelo!

Thanks for the suggestion!

We already track a similar idea, which changes the default search behaviour
when filters are applied. If you filter Translated, we only search
Translated, if you filter Untranslated, we only search Untranslated, etc.

See more details in the bug:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1399839

Would that be a sufficient solution for your request?

Hi Matjaz,

My request is exactly that Théo asked for in 1399839 bug.
I failed to say: "When we need to change the *translation* of a specific
word or term".
I mean, sometimes we need to change a term translation in all strings that
already have an approved translation.
It happens when there are older localizations we want to normalize to use
the same translation, or when a new conflicting term appears.
For example, we used to translate "offline" as "*desconectado*". Then, the
term "disconnected" showed up meaning a device not connected to a Firefox
Account.
I needed to change all previous translations that had "*desconectado*", but
the search results included all strings, including those already fixed.
In terms of UI, my best thought was to add an extra filter named "Approved
Only", but maybe there is a better way.

Best,
Marcelo

Thanks for clarifying, Marcelo!

Let's continue the discussion in the bug. I've put it on our radar:
