Trying to help galician (gl-ES) registration

Hi,

I've been contacted by Francisco J. Rial, which has been working with
a group of volunteers to localize Firefox, Thunderbird and
Sunbird/Lightning. There are some bugs dealing with its registration:

Although Mariano failed to provide the requested information in a
timely fashion, current status is that a gl-ES localization exists for
Firefox and Thunderbird 2 products, and also for Sunbird/Lightning 0.5.

Even if something prevents new locales to be oficially released, I
guess it could be released as beta, in a similar way to Georgian,
Kurdish or Romanian. Is there anything I can do to get some traction
on this bug? I've been searching in BugZilla and Google Groups and,
since Jacobo Tarrio resigned, there is a long story of attempts to
form a galician group that, one way or another, always come to an end
track.

Now that the expected output of a localization effort seems to be
available, it would be nice if we all try to sort out remaining issues.

I commented in the bug, but let's comment here, too.

Galician is likely one of the languages affected by our current process
discussions. Sadly, in particular the place where Galician might end up
in is pretty vague right now, and it's hard to tell if Galician should
end up there before it's a little less vague.

Finding out how that place looks involves quite a few different people,
which are traveling and working and such, so there's not very much I can
do to shortcut the timeline. Or even give one.
