Just like the Thunderbird team, I'd like to remind you that as of last
night, Tuesday, July 14 at 23:59 PST, the firm code and string freeze
for our Betas went into effect. That means that all strings are now
entirely frozen until we release SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1.
At this moment, 11 locales are green on dashboard, only four of those
have opted in yet, I hope the others will follow within the next 42
hours. 6 additional locales have only a handful missing strings or are
orange for only obsolete strings, I hope they'll fix that up and opt in
as well.
Please check that nightly builds are green (at least for Windows, Mac
comm-1.9.1 is known to be broken in tooling, I'm working on getting the
needed fix in for Beta 1), possible problems there are Windows installer
sting problems with placeholders that are only checked on building as
well as eventually ChatZilla or venkman missing strings if those are
enabled for your locale, as those are also not reported on dashboard
right now.
If dashboard and the Windows comm-1.9.1 builds are green, please
remember that we are planning to accept localizations up until
tomorrow Thursday, July 16 23:59 PST. So please opt-in for the beta 1
release until then. You can opt-in in the corresponding opt-in thread
here in the mozilla.dev.l10n newsgroup.
I know that this is not common for SeaMonkey localizers yet (you
probably know it from the other products though) and that we're working
on a tight schedule for you on this release, but I hope we'll manage to
do a good first milestone with official localized builds in the
SeaMonkey history - with your help and cooperation.
Thanks,
Robert Kaiser
Current status of opt-ins is in my new blog post at
http://home.kairo.at/blog/2009-07/seamonkey_2_0_beta_1_is_on_track_l10n_op
- I'd be happy if the missing or non-green locales make it before
midnight Pacific tonight (09:00 tomorrow in Central Europe, by the way).
