I just tried uploading the Friulian Language Pack for Firefox 3.0 to AMO
and ran into a problem: I keep getting an error message saying "Please
select a valid add-on type" when I try to move to Step 2 of the new
upload procedure. The problem is that the add-on type is set
automatically (in this case to "Language Pack (Application)"), and can't
be changed. So I'm stuck: AMO doesn't like the add-on type, but won't
let me change it.
Any other langpackers out there experience the same problem? Anyone
with any ideas? Or know where else I might look for help?
And here I was thinking I was getting the langpack updated just under
the wire.
Thanks
Robert
Here is a temporary workaround I have been informed of:
1) Instead of uploading a new version, click on Submit Add-on in the
left sidebar of Developer Tools.
2) Upload your language pack. It should select extension as the
auto-detected type. Continue with the submission process.
3) Email amo-e...@mozilla.org when it's submitted with your add-on id
and someone will change the type back to language pack.

Thanks for your reply. So uploading an update as though it were a new
submission won't result in chaos?
I am not sure. It would be worth mentioning in the email to amo-editors
that it is an update and point them to the existing version.

Hi,
I also have the same problem. I was trying to upload ta-LK language
pack.
We already have a language pack for FF 3 beta up on addons (public
area). Now we want to have the language pack for FF 3.0.
Do I need to follow the same procedure?
Hope that the pack we upload is straight away go to public. Am I
correct?

Thanks. This seems to have worked: I uploaded the new version as a new
submission, and it appeared as a "pending review" on the page for the
current version. Now we just wait for the review...
The AMO folks seem to be working on language pack issues:
