Pontoon questions

Hello,

I have 3 small questions on the usability of Pontoon.

1) Can the edit fields autogrow when translation of a large string is
copied to it?
2) When saving the translation, can the notification message appear on
the right corner, instead of taking the whole width of a window? Or
modified in other ways, so that it is less distracting?
3) Can we have a (configurable) pane to quickly enter common symbols,
like (_,%,$), that could be useful for keyboard layouts that do not
have it?

We'll need to take 1) into account when addressing bug 1406576.

Apologies for delay.

1) Filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1696722 I have
checked one more time, and clarified the description so that it refers
to the cases when message consisting of several fields is being
translated (2 or more fields at once, label+accesskey, for example).
2) Filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1696723

Also, is there a plan to have word counters in place? Having such a
metric would be great in addition to the messages metric, when
planning translation work.

I agree about the word count. It's particularly useful for projects with
long strings (I'm looking at you, Mozilla.org).

We already collect word counts for each source string, and we have yet to
aggregate that per project, locale and project-locale as hinted at in
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1621290.

Feel free to file a bug to expose word counts in Pontoon UI.
