We're working on the final schedule for Thunderbird 2. Our current thought it to be l10n string complete and code complete on Tuesday morning, February 27th PST.
That would leave 26 days between now and the freeze for localizers to react to any string suggestions from beta 2 testers.
Does anyone have any big objections to this date?
Thanks!
-Team Thunderbird
A bunch of localizers, in particular those of prominent european locales
are probably at FOSDEM the weekend before that. Might include the Friday
and the Monday, too. That's probably not helping the last minute polish
rush. Not sure how bad it would be, though.
Axel
How many days after the string freeze we have to finish-up the localization?

Heh, I think there's some confusion. By the morning of the 27th your locale needs to be finished and ready to go if it's going to be part of the Thunderbird 2 release. En-us strings have been frozen since early December (dec. 4th?).
Cheers,
-Scott
As the freeze is tuesday 27th *PST*, I dare say this will not be a
problem for European locales if en-US remains relatively frozen. On the
other hand, pushing the freeze *time* from the usual 12am PST to 3pm PST
would add many Europeans some valuable evening (working) hours.

Just wanted to query the progress on my application for CVS access for
the Kinyarwanda language project, Bug 330026
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330026). This was filed
in September, at a time when everyone was too busy getting ready for
2.0, but we were informed we might make one of the 2.0.0.x releases.
Has this been overlooked, or are the reviewers still too busy?

I'm sorry to admit, but this is not overlooked, but hanging in a blocked
queue. Right now, I can't really say anything constructive on new
locales, because I don't know where to put them.
I'm trying to unblock that queue, but failed so far.
Axel
Sorry, I haven't seen the announcement that the en-us strings are frozen.

This means L10N deadline also extended to 03/06?
or L10N deadline is still 02/27?
Thanks.
