the Sunbird team has just released Sunbird 0.3 alpha2. We would like to
invite all localizers to localize this release and thereby help us
spread
the word about Sunbird.
The official builds can be found at
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/sunbird/download.html
We currently do not support source-level l10n as do Firefox or
Thunderbird,
but source l10n is one of our goals for Sunbird 0.3 beta, so stay tuned.
A lot of bug fixes and improvements have gone into Sunbird 0.3a2. From a
l10n perspective, the most notable improvement should be that every
string
should now be localizable, since we tried to remove all hardcoded
strings
to ease localization.
Everyone, who has completed the localization of Sunbird 0.3 alpha2
should
post an announcement here with links to his localized builds and
crosspost
it to mozilla.dev.apps.calendar and I'll happily add those links to the
official Sunbird homepage on mozilla.org.
TIA

If it's true that we are here to help others,
then what exactly are the OTHERS here for?

Ricardo,
is http://nave.hispalinux.es/productos/sunbird/ no longer the place to
be for Spanish Sunbird builds?
Yes, it is, but we have a somewhat messy configuration in NAVE website
which involves several mirrors of which I only have access to one
placed in a domestic ADSL line, so we don't upload full binaries and
installers there.
Instead of waiting for the guy in position to upload Sunbird binaries
to the other NAVE mirrors, I've uploaded them to my personal webpage
so you can get it earlier. In fact, I have the XPI ready, too, but I'm
waiting for him to reply me in order to update NAVE web page at once.
"Too messy" is the expression you're looking for, I know. :-)
Oops! I've realized that:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/sunbird/l10n_download.html
doesn't link to mozilla.org's FTP, but instead links directly to the
localizers websites. As I gave you my personal homepage URL, that's
where the links for es-ES are pointing.
Unfortunately, my home page has 1 GB/month quota, and it's about to be
exceeded (~900 MB up to now), so maybe in three or four days the
webpage traffic will be locked. At the same time, I can't get in touch
with the guy from NAVE that has access to the mirrors with enough
bandwith to host full binaries. I will keep informed so you can move
the links to NAVE mirrors ASAP.
Sorry for this inconvenience.
Well, the binaries are already uploaded to the usual place at NAVE
mirrors, so could you please modify the URLs for es-ES binaries? They are:
Win 32 ZIP:
http://nave.hispalinux.es/productos/sunbird/0.3/descargas/win32/sunbird-0.3a2.es-ES.win32.zip
Linux tar.bz2:
http://nave.hispalinux.es/productos/sunbird/0.3/descargas/linux/sunbird-0.3a2.es-ES.linux-i686.tar.bz2
I'm pretty sure that my monthly quota has been exceeded by now, so
anyone clicking in the current links at
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/sunbird/l10n_download.html
won't be able to get the binaries unless you change them.
TIA

I've changed the links.
