[FFOS] Strings fitting in 1.1 no longer fit in 1.2

Dear all,
When starting testing 1.2, I started seeing reports of strings not
fitting when they were tested and OK in 1.1.
Now I realize that in 1.2 there were some cosmetic changes that impact
the spacing allowed for the strings.
Have a look at this screen ("Developer"):
*IN LATEST 1.1* (grid enabled):

(the spacing of the grid also changed from 1.1 to 1.2 so they cannot be
compared 1:1, but anyway)
As you can see, there are 2 strings fitting in 1.1 that no longer fit in
1.2.
The issue is even more puzzling after seeing that in 1.2 actually the
checkboxes (now squared instead of round) are placed *further away* than
in previous 1.1!
In short: in 1.2 the checkboxes are pushed more to the right (therefore
allowing more space for the text), but it actually allows *less* space
for the strings!
If this is a global design issue it impacts most of the screens in the
product.
That would mean that all the testing done for 1.1 was completely useless.
You can tell us to "try to shorten the translation", but that is not the
point (my point is in the previous sentence).

Screen: Settings -> Date and Time

Again, in 1.2 the slider control was pushed further to the right (one
would think the reason is to allow more space for localized strings),
but alas! the string is truncated.
If this issue is system wide, I would consider it serious enough to be a
show stopper.
I am sure this issue is generating tons of bugs due to truncation in all
locales that otherwise would not happen.
What is going on here? Is this a kind of bug?

Thanks for cross-posting Flod.
Jordi: yeah, this is a main issues across FirefoxOS. We are working closely with UX team to find solutions for this. Thanks for reporting here. Let's hope this issue will be minor in future releases.
In the meantime, let's continue working closely together with UX to find a long term solution!
