Unless it's hidden extremely well, Pontoon does not seem to have the
ability to search for a string across all projects.

Specifically, I'm trying to improve a translation for the string
Settings > Advanced Settings > Data options

The last one should be something like "Let Firefox do... something" (it
currently says "Leig le Firefox aithisgean tuislidh a &chàirn roimhe as
do leth") and I think I have a typo in it but I cannot for the life of
me locate the string. I tried the Firefox project, several searches and
even transvision but the string does not seem to exist.

How *does* one find a string on Pontoon when you're not sure which
sub-project it's hidden under?

Is this it?

https://transvision.mozfr.org/?sourcelocale=en-US&locale=gd&repo=release&search_type=entities&recherche=browser/chrome/browser/preferences-old/advanced.dtd:alwaysSubmitCrashReports.label&entire_string=entire_string

I think the problem might be that you see "Firefox" in the string, but
it actually the message is:

Leig le &brandShortName; aithisgean tuislidh a chàirn roimhe as do leth

and it has a placeholder.

Hope it helps.

Eduardo.

Hi Michael,

yes, it's true. But, there's already a bug ticket:

As Michael (Wolf) already pointed out, there's currently no search
across projects[1].

There are two reasons why the search is failing within the Firefox
project (All Resources):
* "Firefox" is going to be a placeholder/variable in the actual string
(as Eduardo wrote).
* Based on the Preferences path, I assume you're looking at release
(55), because 56 and 57 have the reorganized preferences (there's no
Advanced settings anymore).

This should be the string you're looking for.
https://pontoon.mozilla.org/gd/firefox-beta/browser/chrome/browser/preferences-old/advanced.dtd/?search=aithisgean+tuislidh+a&string=166919

That string is still available in the Beta project (unused), while it's
been removed for good a few days ago (Friday) on Nightly.
