Hi!
In Bug 694514 (Expose mailnews.reply_header_type preference) the
question came up whether the "[Author]" and "[date]" strings are to be
translated or not. Short answer: Yes, please translate them; think of
them as variables. If you want to be sure to do the right thing, please
test what each of the four new options do in your locale - their actual
effect depends on existing preferences (mailnews.reply_header_*).

Please note that some of the entities and values introduced through that
bug are going to change one more time (within the next few days) through
bug 733258 since there were some oversights.
