Calendar et (Estonian)

It was impossible to include et for 0.9 as there were no dom, toolkit
etc in repository.
However, I just noticed that it has been pushed to l10n-central:
http://hg.mozilla.org/l10n-central/et/pushloghtml?&enddate=now&path=/&startdate=1+month+ago
Does this mean it would be meaningful to push calendar folder now?

Yes, please push your calendar localization to hg, if it is ready.
However for the longer run, it doesn't make much sense to have calendar
localization without having a corresponding Thunderbird localization,
given the integration plans of Thunderbird and Lightning (see my latest
post here in and our long-term planning for Sunbird.
So, what I'd like to know is, do you have any plans for localizing
Thunderbird as well?

Estonian has language pack for TB 2. How many strings is the difference
between 2 and 3 approximately? If it is a matter of getting langpack to
a different folder structure and minor translating (I guess langpack
misses (un)installation strings?) then it shouldn't be an issue at all.

Short-term yes, long-term probably no. I can't tell you more right now,
because a lot of things are in flux right now.

There are certainly some differences between the current TB3 string
landscape and the string landscape of the TB2 builds.
What I would recommend is to push your mail/ and editor/ui/ translation
to l10n-central/et as well and then open up a bug (assigned to me) to add
et as a supported TB locale. That will get you on our dashboard, which
will tell you exactly how much work it would be, to be ready for TB3.

Would it be possible to first solve bug #453422 and get calendar on l10n
dashboard? Or do you only get calendar there if you have tb as well?
I checked out calendar and et translation from hg and added calendar
files locally and it turned out that to get calendar to compile et only
misses two files currently:
.../l10n/et/toolkit/chrome/search/search.properties
.../l10n/et/security/manager/chrome/pippki/validation.dtd
Those are not much to translate and I could have them in a week or so. I
don't have hg access myself, so somebody would need to do it for me.
Compare-locales gives a little bit different results though, for those
two files there are no lines in the output. All in all obsolete 17 and
missing 40. Uploaded version of translation has one error as well since
I noticed it only now.

You really should apply for hg access. I can't do all the commits
and pushes for you long-term.
