Subject: [screenshots] Website localization for Firefox Screenshots
available in Pontoon, deadline Aug 8
To: Mozilla l10n Mailing List <dev-...@lists.mozilla.org>

Hi,
It took a lot longer than expected, but the strings for Firefox
Screenshots' website are now available for localization.

Strings are exposed as part of the existing Firefox Screenshots project
https://pontoon.mozilla.org/projects/firefox-screenshots/

The dev website is available at
https://screenshots.dev.mozaws.net/

Firefox Screenshots is going to launch with Firefox 56, on Aug 8, so that
leaves about 3 weeks for localization.

There are 134 strings in the project (690 words). 36 of them (163 words)
can be left in English if you want (metricsPage*), since they're used in a
technical and quite hidden page. They're also likely the most complicated
to translate, since they try to describe SQL queries:
https://screenshots.firefox.com/metrics/

As a reminder, "Firefox Screenshots" (abbreviated as "Screenshots"
sometimes, starting with uppercase S), should not be localized or
transliterated.
There should be a comment for all these strings as a reminder.

Dev server should be automatically updated, but we'll need to check that
everything works as expected in the coming days. Since it's a brand new
project, let us know if you find any issues (layout, hard coded strings,
etc.), hopefully there won't be too many.

For those curious about technical details, it's the first web project we
ship using Fluent React, the second using the FTL format (aka l20n) for
localization after Test Pilot.

P.S. the new file is currently not tracked in WebStatus, this will be fixed
in the coming days
