Hi everyone!
I'm gonna jump right in. As you all know, we look forward to inviting
core l10n contributors to Mozilla events (like MozCamps and Mozilla
Summits) and sending you gear to thank you all for your efforts. Being
that this is the beginning of the year, plans are being made for these
events and budgets are being set for both events and gear distribution.
Planning and budgeting for these can be a difficult task and depend on
our ability to accurately estimate the number of people contributing to
l10n.
In order to improve our ability to reach out to you with event
invitations and gear, we're highly encouraging everyone to do a few things:
1) Create a profile on
www.mozillians.org and listing your profile in
the l10n, and l10n:[locale-code] groups.
Additionally, we'd like you to add groups that describe what you do for
l10n. Please also add either l10n:translation, l10n:testing, or
l10n:review to your list of groups.
This is an especially important step, as our budget for gear depends on
the number of people in mozillians that are part of the l10n group.
Fewer people in the l10n mozillians group = less money to send gear.
2) Make sure that your locale's wiki page is up-to-date and follows the
template found at
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Template:L10n:Teams.
Taking these steps helps us to reach out to you and thank you for all of
your hard work.
As always, if you have questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thanks,
Jeff
