Use Unicode fonts instead of non-unicodes.

Thanks for joining us.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to write some information about how to
download and setup the right fonts and input system for new localizers
on Windows/Linux/Mac OSs.

Please note that this information would be valuable for those who don't
read Burmese as well. For instance, the Mozilla Release Engineering team
and Mozilla QA team would need this information as well.

You can post this information here on the list or request it to be
published on the Mozilla Myanmar website.

Cheers

I have raised that kind of question[0] before as well as a suggestion to
write it down in a form of a wiki for the Mozilla Myanmar Community.

Right after that I didn't have a quite stable internet so, I did not
make further efforts to help write clear documentations for Burmese fonts.

But since I believe, we are really in need of a clear documentation, I
would like to help out in writing documentation(s) for setting up
Burmese fonts. And I believe this could further the community's efforts
to make more advances in helping Burmese users use and contribute to the
Mozilla community.

Well, since I'm mainly a Linux user, we can divide some of the works
between us. And to be honest, I have been outside of Myanmar and haven't
used Burmese fonts for quite sometimes, I'd need some help getting the
correct sources (tutorials/work arounds) to start with. But I believe
I'll gather up my sources perhaps during this weekend. And share with
you folks for collaboration.

P.S. When replying, either "reply to all" or "cc" to
mozilla-dev-l10n-my, which makes things keep in sync on the mailing list.

Thanks!

I guess, we need something that describes how to setup your computer
with the right fonts and keyboard layout.

We need this information for different OS Windows, Linux and Mac. Any
additional information about Android would be beneficial for Firefox
Mobile testing as well.

Look at this page.

Hello arky,

I proposed to document that last year, but due to my studies I had to
bail out. I'll put some life into again this time. I'll start with
GNU/Linux since I'm already on Fedora 18 and have been trying out
Burmese language input with Myanmar3 font.

https://launchpad.net/~bonepyaesone/+archive/ppa use this ppa for Ubuntu.
You will get 3 fonts installed. (Ayar, Myanmar3 and Zawgyi-One)
If you want to set system default font, make change in ~/.fonts.conf .
