[FxOS] Persian Dictionary

Hi Persian localizers,

I see that there is no autocorrection/autocompletion option for Persian in
Firefox OS. I have been discussing this quickly with Arash, who tells me
there may have been some (failed?) attempts to create a dictionary for this.

I've CCed here Kevin Scannell who might be able to give a little bit more
insight on the feasibility for this. I'm sure he'll have valuable comments
in any case :) (if anyone answerse this email, please remember to keep him
in CC as I don't think he's part of this list)

Thanks everyone for the great work done on FxOS 2.5, we're going to test it
soon (probably by next week) for the first time! \o/

Hi,

Adding Yogo to the CC list while it seems he has done some work to add
a Persian dictionary. Yogo, If you could explain us how far you have
made, we can pick up the work and see if we can finish it up with the
help of other community members.

Arash following first part of your email and We working on it.
But about second part of your email test FxOS, We just checked FxOs on the emulator and still some part of RTL seems a little bit strange, it would be great if you share result about test FxOs persian on the real FxOS phone!

Hi Delphine,

Thanks for looping me in. There is a sizeable open source spell
checker for Persian already - it would be easy enough to add frequency
information by collecting a corpus of web texts. But as I recall
there were issues with the autocorrect engine not working for
Perso-Arabic script? Has that been sorted out?
