Hi,

Would it be possible to number the placeholders?

For example, this sentence:

"By proceeding, you agree to %s's <a %s>Terms</a> and <a %s>Privacy
Policy</a>."

As far as I can see the current Spanish[1] or French[2] translations
will simply not work. And it is pretty hard for me to write a sentence
with the placeholders in that fixed order.

In German[3] they solved it nicely, but the sentence now reads something
like: "by proceeding you confirm to %s that you accept the ..." that is
not exactly what the original sentence means. Anyway, I think those
unnumbered placeholders make the translation unnecessarily difficult.

Eduardo.

Hey Eduardo,

Please have a look here:
https://github.com/mozilla/browserid/issues/1960

To sum it up,

1. We'll have more meaningful string replacements ready for the next train.
Instead of %s we'll use %somethingMeaningful.

2. Until then, it might be useful for you to translate "By proceeding, you
agree to %s's <a %s>Terms</a> and <a %s>Privacy Policy</a>." as something
like "By proceeding, you declare to %s that you agree to their <a
%s>Terms</a> and <a %s>Privacy Policy</a>.

Good to know it's being taken care of.

In the meantime could you contact the es and fr team? Both will show it
wrong, with a link in place of the service name and the service name
hidden behind a link. And the 'es' one is missing the 's' after '%'.

I'll do that. Thanks.

Eduardo.
