The URLs are actually displayed unwrapped here (SeaMonkey 1.1.1),
interestingly only the first chunk is linked though - this all may
connected with f=f or something like that...

With a new enough browser, the URLbar will strip newlines and
surrounding whitespace when you paste in multiline URLs.

With an older browser, you can change the newline preference from its
platform-specific default to 3, which strips newlines when you paste any
multiline text into a single-line textbox.

Any idea what setting would affect this on the receiver's side? I am
looking at it with SM 1.1.1, too, and it is wrapped... Hmm, I do have
Mnenhy/0.7.5.0 installed currently.

But even if it works in SM and TB is still annoying for people who use
other mail and news clients.
Peter.

OK, fine as a workaround. But still not as comfortable as just clicking on
the link, dragging-and-dropping it, or pasting it while hovering the content
area, all of which don't work with links including newlines.
Peter.

Ah, it's "mailnews.display.disable_format_flowed_support". That has caused
so many problems for me in the past that I had set it to true...
Peter.

Well, one thing is fixing/configuring TB and SM to work better with this
kind of email/post. But that doesn't help people who read the
newsgroups/lists with other clients.
I was suggesting that Apple Mail users in the interest of general
readability would switch of this folding somehow...
Peter.
