Incoming activity, no information about origin

When I get an incoming activity, I'd guess it might make sense to receive information about the origin of the request. F.e. when I have an authentication broker I would like to present the user with the name and icon of the application so the user has a fair choice of granting the application permissions. Would it make sense to expose this information (maybe depending on privileged level)?
