Copy / Paste not working with Telegram

Hello everyone,

The copy / paste feature is not working with Telegram since FxOS 2.5.

With other apps it's working perfectly fine. Can someone who is related to the copy/past features help to investigate whats the problem here?

This is likely due to the rich copy paste feature, we'll disable it in v2.5 very soon (bug 1212188).
Yet we need a path to have it working generally in the future for existing websites, without having to implement a new API to handle the rich paste.

You can try to flip "clipboard.plainTextOnly" preference with WebIDE [1]

Thanks for the hint, but setting that pref didn't help. I also checked the apps css, there is no -moz-user-select set and in 2.2 and below it was possible to select and copy every text. Now I can't select, copy or paste anything. If I set -moz-user-select: all on an element I can select all it's text by long tapping, but I still have no carets or copy / paste menu.

I've been investigating this issue in bug 1206546. Flip "clipboard.plainTextOnly" to false won't fix the issue.

The implementation in gecko had been refactored in v2.5. The root cause is that the copy paste event handling module (AccessibleCaretEventHub) doesn't properly initialize when Telegram is launched. I'll fix this bug as soon as possible next week.

this is not an issue from FxOS. It's simply not implemented in telegram.
