Hi all,

Assuming we're not giving up on our mission (see other thread), and given that all projects within Connected Devices now need to go through the gating process, we have a few options, for instance:

1) Disband the Data Sync project as such, and restrict scope to trains that have already been proposed, i.e. splitting activities into 'data sync for smart TV', 'data sync for home automation', etc.
2) Create a pitch deck about Data Sync
3) Propose 'cross-browser gaia' as one of the projects to continue within connected devices (or hope at least some gaia apps will continue to be actively developed and continue to have a significant user base), and keep working on adding data sync to gaia apps (not just Smart TV)

Proposals for the gating process need:
* a product manager (Preeti?)
* a pitch deck using Lean Canvas

What are people's thoughts about this? Shall we have a meeting to discuss?

Cheers,
Michiel

I drafted a Lean Canvas for this: https://canvanizer.com/canvas/2OxuBRFcWas

We can discuss in today's team meeting (starting in 20 minutes).

I would agree with this sentence once we get a bare minimum, I have the feeling our MVP, is very very M, IMO, we should provide at least write support, to being able to say that we have data sync and not just import.

This to me is totally aligned with the new train models, and explorations, since sync capabilities will be needed, write will needed too.

+1

I think this is outside of the data sync scope. Seems to me that the WADI team is the perfect target for this ;). I'm sure they will like to hear from that topic.

OK, makes sense! Thanks.

Hi All,

Apologize for the delay, but I'm pretty much OOO for the holidays. Please see comments inline.

cheers,

[Preeti] - Agreed. There are some smaller use cases needed for TV, but perhaps Sean can lead that.
2) Create a pitch deck about Data Sync
[Preeti] - I'd like to wait on this until I get a better sense of our scope for connected devices. I see a need for data exchange, but don't yet know the mechanism proposed; through foxbox and/or cloud etc.
3) Propose 'cross-browser gaia' as one of the projects to continue within connected devices (or hope at least some gaia apps will continue to be actively developed and continue to have a significant user base), and keep working on adding data sync to gaia apps (not just Smart TV)
[Preeti] I see this being picked up by the WADI team. Again, I'd like to wait until I get more clarity on the underlying trains/strategies.
