Mark Finkle and John Resig are at work on JavaScript utilities aimed at
making extension development more succinct and powerful.

Some early sketches are available on the wiki.

Yes, this looks very cool. I emailed Mark and John the following feedback:

I took a look at your FUEL plans. They look awesome! One note: in
addition to serving the needs of extension developers, a lot of the work
you do could make it significantly easier to develop the core JS code in
Firefox.

And having the core code do things the same way extension code does them
has a number of benefits, including fewer code paths and easier reuse of
core code in extensions (and integration of extensions into core code).

So I encourage you to accommodate core developers in addition to
extension developers in the API, where practical.

Otherwise just wanted to say that I'm really excited about your work and
looking forward to getting my hands on the first version!
