Thunderbird extension request - easy email within a default domain

Dear all,

Email addresses within my company are all of the form
'ident...@ourdomain.com', as I expect they are in many organisations.

Given that most of the mail I send from my company account is to
internal addresses, would it be possible to create an extension whereby
I'd type 'identifier' and Thunderbird would detect no domain and add the
default '@ourdomain.com', either as an auto-correct style feature or
just when the mail is actually sent? Or, of course, does such a thing
already exist?

It would of course be most useful if the extension could be applied only
to my company account and not other accounts that I access from the same
identity.

There is an extension that allows what you want attached to one of the
comments in this bug.

Hmm, the domain autocomplete built in to Thunderbird is kind of what I
want, except that it's not possible to set it only on one account and as
mentioned in that thread it doesn't always work perfectly.

Unfortunately our mail system DOES require domains even for internal
mail, and so the extension mentioned (which just allows Thunderbird to
send mail to addresses without domains) isn't much use.
