Hey

I am organizing a hack day in Paris at our office on decentralization.

I have no particular plan on the topics right now, I guess people
interested in joining can add some!

I am starting a pad here, if you are interested in joining please add
your name, (and topics)

https://etherpad.mozilla.org/decentralization-day-1

People can attend remotely of course, but if you can make it to paris
it's more fun

Cheers
Tarek

Great! Added my name to the attendee list. I'm very excited about the FxA +
remoteStorage topic, and looking forward to meeting you guys! :)

Cheers,

Hi All,

Dan (phrawzty) has, as you could see, found http://maidsafe.net

It's 99% of what I was looking for ! It's even better than what I
imagined on a few points !

I think we can add some usability by providing a presence server to
their architecture, so bootstrap time will be much shorter.

What I suggest is :
1. compile our own nodes, and play around with the provided applications
(ie Drive),
2. create en API "mozcloud storage", the closest possible to
"remote/local storage" so it would be a drop-in replacement for developers,
3. evangelize it and see if they adopt it for their apps !

I'd like to present a talk to the Open World Forum, with the ideas we'll
have gathered and the realizations we can come up with until then.

Thank you very much Tarek for organizing this event. As you and I discussed, this is the first instance of a meetup that will take place on a regular basis.

See http://www.meetup.com/Paris-Meetup-pour-la-decentralisation-dInternet/events/193618842/ for the invitation.

I'll be announcing this shortly on my blog, standblog.org (in French because the event will be in Paris).

Thanks Tristan for the Meetup - If you added your name in the pad, can
you add yourself to the meetup ?

Thanks

Err. I'm confused. I see myself as the organizer of the meetup, so I'm listed as attending, of course :-)

I've just published the announcement of the Paris meet-up on my blog (in French) : http://standblog.org/blog/post/2014/07/09/Decentralisation-d-Internet

Pass the word around!
