Dear Decentralisers,
as announced at the previous Paris decentralisation meeting, we are organising on Saturday 25th October a Workshop in Paris following the scala.io conference.
This workshop will be looking at how to use Scala-JS to build typesafe JavaScript libraries for Linked Data that can be used in Node-JS or in the browser, as well as on Java Virtual Machine based servers such as Play 2.0.
Linked Data is the w3c word for how to turn the web into a distributed database, one obvious and simple application of which is a distributed Social Web. I talked about this at the Ministry of Culture in Paris earlier this year:
and there are versions of such talks on my home page in English http://bblfish.net/
The Assemblée Virtuelle which helped organise last year the Meeting "Web We Want" in Paris [1] will be hosting this at their offices at the Fil Rouge in Paris. If you wish to come please sign up on the meetup link above.
