Subject: Decentralization devroom @ FOSDEM '15
__

Ohai fellow Internet citizens,

The (re)decentralization movement becoming more popular each year, I
came up with an idea: to propose a decentralization devroom at the next
edition of FOSDEM, which will takes place in February at Brussels (
https://fosdem.org/2015/news/2014-07-01-call-for-participation/ ).

The devroom would host several conferences on different protocols,
softwares and systems which aim to make things less centralized.
Actually the very kind of thing that is exposed on redecentralize.org
<http://redecentralize.org> :-)

For this proposal we need some people to back us up by attending to
FOSDEM '15 to give talks in this potential devroom. We also need someone
to be in charge of the devroom with me (my poor English skill says "You
won't do this alone"). And above all, we need interested people in
charge of projects like yours to say "Go ahead", "LGTM" or "+1".

Would you be one of those people ?

Best regards, and keep saving the world :-)

ohai too.

Very keen for Buddycloud's decentralised messaging to be a part of this
too! This would make FOSDEM even more awesome!

Hey,

I think I replied to an earlier (off-list) email, so just reiterating
in public my hat being thrown into the ring.

Also, I appear to speak English so don't mind doing "English" stuff or
maybe even giving a talk. :-)

All the best,

Nicholas.

Hi,

> Would you be one of those people ?

Speaking for remoteStorage folks, we’d definitely be interested in this!

We’d be happy to present the protocol, as well as give introductions to server and/or client development/integration, or whatever else is of interested to people.

Not sure what to do next (or if we should all reply to the original email instead), but you can certainly count us in! :)

Cheers

I prepared a talk for the OWF which happens in Paris at end of October
and I will likeky be able to hold it again, with additions, in February.

My dream, in a few words : MaidSafe.net did a great job, and I'd like to
advocate for the standardization of such protocol, so that it's
implemented in all browsers and works seamlessly when they run. The idea
is zero install, zero set up, so that hundreds of millions of nodes can
participate.

It's Decentralized, Encrypted, Anonymous, Redundant, call it DEAR :-)
