Mozillians.org Roadmap Story Arcs

Hello all,

Trying to consolidate current planned work and future development of
Mozillians, we created some story arcs that we will be using moving
forward to categorize the work we are doing:

Please have a look and provide any feedback here, or during today's meetings.

The concept is that any work that is requested on mozillians.org or
planned by us, should fall under any of the 3 story arcs and comply
with the System and Data principles document (linked in the etherpad.)

The goal is to provide clarity moving forward for Mozillians.org
development. Why we do it, how we do it, when we do it :)

I think the story arcs are strong and they will position Mozillians.org
to support the Enable Communities that Have Impact organizational goal.

A few questions

- How often will the story arcs be updated? Should we re-evalauate every
quarter?

- Are all the story arcs of equal importance? Or do some have a higher
priority?

- How do we decide the priorities of projects?

- The team has previously identified a big opportunity for
Mozillians.org to serve as a community and contribution portal. That
could include a variety of information and ways for people to
participate that goes beyond a phonebook (displaying blog posts,
contribution opportunities, upcoming events). I'm not suggesting we
prioritize it now, but it could be a priority sometime next year. Should
we broaden a story arc to include this or consider adding this as a
story arc in the future?

Re-evaluation and updating indeed needs to be done on quarterly basis.
Consider those our Q4 arcs.

I would say that the Arcs themselves are of equal importance, and we
need to showcase progress within each of the arcs per quarter. That
said, within the arcs some items are more prioritized than others.

In a joined meeting among the stakeholders. I create the proposal for
the roadmap, you identify and create bugs and functional requirements
(as Product Manager) and we prioritize them togethter with BKing and
DBoswell. For Q4 we need to move fast. So if we are all Ok with the
high level story arcs, let move those to the wiki and tag all bugs we
have against those. Then we prioritize them and we know exactly what
we work on for Q4.

Let's focus on priorities identified and fixes for Q4 and then we can
discuss this more as we plan for 2015.

This is all great. I am okay with the high level story arcs and I
suggest we move those to the wiki and tag all bug we have against those.
Pierros, can you take on this task?

I am scheduling a meeting for Friday 17 October for Pierros, David,
Brian and myself to finalize the Q4 priorities. If anyone else wants to
join that discussion, let me know.
