Hello CommTools,
Earlier this year we increased the functionality of groups by adding
curators [0]. Each group has a person who can edit the settings and
static content for that group. It's been great - lots of communities,
teams and projects have set up groups.
We also have hundreds of legacy groups with no curators, and we are
happy to have people curate those. Curators make
mozillians.org a much
better resource. These requests are managed through Bugzilla bugs, and
mozillians.org administrators review them.
To be clear, being a group curator is simply an administrative
responsibility to keep a group's settings, content and membership
requests updated. It does not imply leadership of a group or community,
which was recently suggested in a bug comment. If you want to be the
curator of a group, great! If someone else is already the curator, and
they are doing a reasonable job, that is okay too. If you see someone is
not curating a group well, please file a bug and an administrator like
myself will help with those cases.
