Yesterday I needed to send an e-mail to the addresses in one of my
address Lists. When I pressed "Send", I got an error dialog that said
something like "Cannot send because the address is not a valid e-mail
address".

Is there a regression that is causing this?

BTW: I just noticed that my Gecko version seems to be from 2010
("Gecko/20100101"). How can that be?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101
Thunderbird/23.0a1

Please file a bug for it.

The Gecko version issue i suspect could come from some extension?

Seems this was changed in Bug 816749 with Thunderbird 20. The Gecko
version is fixed to 20100101 as in Firefox since Firefox 4.

Look at Help > Troubleshooting Information to see the Build ID of your
nightly build.
