The astute observer will have noticed that today was the day that we
were scheduled to ship 3.1a1. We've decided to slip it until at least
next Tuesday, and possibly a little longer. The thinking here was twofold:
* There's still a moderate amount of work that remains to be done
(triage, QA, release notes, web site...).
* a key group of Thunderbird contributors deeply involved in the release
process are going to be face-to-face at the MoMo onsite this coming
week. This much face-to-face time for this many contributors is a rare
thing, and it generates the most benefit for Thunderbird if those
contributors make the best use of that time possible. It would be
impossible to make this release happen today without significant
disruption of the f2f time, and there's not much extra value generated
for the project by doing this release stuff in person.
Our current plans are to figure out whether Tuesday the 2nd is our
target date tomorrow. More posted as it is known.
